Candle Care and Safety
We want you to keep yourself, your family and your home safe every time you #BURNTHEGOODCANDLES.
Follow these helpful tips and read the warning label underneath your candle vessel to safely burn your favourite soy candles each and every time:
CANDLE SAFETY
- Alway trim your wick down to 1/4 inch from the top of the wax
- Never leave your lit candle unattended
- Keep your candle away from interfering debris and overhanging objects
- Do not burn your candle longer than 3-4hrs at a time
- Do not use cork top to extinguish flame
- Always keep candles out of reach from young children and pets
- Do not burn your candle once the wax has gotten down to 1/2 inch to avoid concentrated high heat against the glass vessel
-
Always read the warning label underneath the vessel before burning
CANDLE CARE
- Always trim your wick down to 1/4 after each burn. This keeps the wick from developing a bulbous tip while keeping the flame low. By trimming your cotton wick each time, you will avoid uncontrolled flickering, a faster burn, black smoke, and soot from gathering along the edges of the vessel
- Let your soy candle burn long enough each time so that the wax melts all the way to the edge of the vessel to avoid tunnelling
- To keep your candle clean and free of dust and debris, place cork top on when not burning. (Do not use to extinguish flame)
- Do not place lit candles near air drafts such as open windows, fans and high traffic areas in the home. Drafts will cause a faster and uneven burn, as well as soot to gather along the edges
- Do not store your candle in direct sunlight. This can cause the wax to melt faster and the colour of wax to change
- Using a candle snuffer, snuff the candle to extinguish the flame to avoid wax splatter
- Always place your candle on a heat-safe surface when burning to avoid heat damage
