Meet The Founder of Canvas Candle Co

Meet Caylen, Canvas Candle Co founder.

Caylen has a passion for entrepreneurship and a zest for connection with others. If you speak to those closest to Caylen, you will get the sense that she was destined and determined to do something extraordinary in the creative entrepreneurial space.

Today, Caylen manages the daily operations and team at Canvas Candle Co. She’s motivated by the constant challenge that entrepreneurship presents and loves the fact that the only limits in her business are the ones she sets for herself—badass, we know.

Canvas Candle Co

When Caylen first started Canvas Candle Co, she, like many other business owners, was under the impression that she had to take everything on herself to be the most productive. Ultimately, this was unproductive and led to burnout. She discovered that if you surround yourself with a passionate team, you can take time for a healthy self-care practice that will enable you to stay grounded and work at your maximum potential. This learning became fuel for her passion and is how she connects so authentically with customers when talking about candles as a tool for self-care.

When I asked Caylen what the magic recipe is for entrepreneurial success, she gave me four ingredients:

  • Knowing when to ask for help
  • Removing ego from the equation
  • Being genuine in your intentions
  • Driving from passion, not a monetary purpose

In addition to the ingredients above, Caylen stressed the importance of her team. Collaborating, celebrating and trusting team members has allowed her to bloom Canvas Candle Co into the business of her dreams.

If you are looking for some entrepreneurial motivation, Caylen suggests following Gary Vaynerchuk for some tough love, Danielle Wiebe from Business Babes Collective and printing out the following quotes for your workspace:

“Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your heart on fire” - Jennifer Lee

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” - Marianne Williamson
